First Impression: Physician's Formula Bronze Booster Review

Physician's Formula Bronze Booster Season to Season Bronzer

I must get a few things about this review out first and foremost before I talk about the product. Number one - whenever I said or typed the name I instinctively wrote/said/thought the word 'juice' after Booster. I think I became addicted to Booster Juice in University. This post was almost called Physician's Formula Bronze Booster Juice... Luckily I realized there is no relation to the two. I'm just stuck thinking that in my head.

Next point (more important than the first one I promise) is that this is the first Physician's Formula product I have ever laid hands on. I don't know why but I've always passed by the PF display in my local drugstores and shopping trips. Never even glanced at it and I barely knew from blogging that PF is big on blushes and bronzers. That was where my experience ended, so this product is super new to me. Even though it isn't new to shelves.

Okay, onto the bronzer. This is one of the longest named products I have ever come across and to put that in the title of this post would have made it two lines. Technically this is Physician's Formula Bronze Booster Glow Boosting Season to Season Bronzer. That is a mouthful! I'm just going to call it Season to Season Bronzer.

The seasonal thing is actually a pretty great idea. Instead of owning multiple bronzers depending on the weather and how tan you may or may not be, this allows for a few different shades in one compact which you can swirl together or use separately. Year round my body is always more tan than my face, so for me I use bronzer daily. This one is divided into four quarters for lighter colours each season. Winter is the lightest, and for me that would not be enough so I might mix Winter and Spring or Fall to get my perfect shade.

So while the concept is really cool. the bronzer itself isn't as impressive. I am more of an olive skin tone so I don't need super brown bronzer, but this one was almost invisible. I got a slight wash of colour with the Summer shade, but blending them together came out more of a clear shimmery look. There was an abundance of shimmer, not as obvious in the compact but very obvious on my face and now on my bathroom counter too.

I tried to get swatch pictures but my arm is too tan for anything to show up. I am seriously disappointed by the lack of pigmentation in this product. Maybe it's my skin. I'm not sure. Did any of you have any luck with the bronzer actually bronzing you?

Another thing that I noticed was the scent. It reminded me of those candles you use to keep mosquitoes away. Citronella I think is what its called. It had a bright lightly chemical scent. It wasn't the worst but it wasn't a scent I would want my face to smell like all day. Actually, as I type this I keep getting wafts of the smell and it seems to be getting worse. I hope other PF products don't have this scent.

Unfortunately for my first PF product, this Season to Season Bronzer falls flat. Its a cool idea and I loved the PF packaging, but it didn't deliver much. I really do want to try something else from the brand, so if anyone has suggestions for a better bronzer or other item from PF please let me know in the comments!

Did you have a better experience with this bronzer, or is there another one you prefer? I'd love to hear of a great golden glow to lookout for on my next shopping trip so let me know!

Thanks for stopping by!
