Good morning everyone! Today I have some pretty exciting nails to show you guys! I finally managed to create a successful water marble, which is something I have been trying to do for so long.
I have always been a big fan of the intricate and interesting designs that a water marble makes but unfortunately never had the luck to do them on my own nails. Finally though, this time worked out and I was able to do some Halloween water marbling!
I started with a base of two layers of the orange OPI polish, A Roll In The Hague. This colour is a really great orange and It was perfect for Halloween. It applied so smoothly as well and was really nice without a topcoat. I almost didn't want to cover it up but I'm glad I did.
The colours I marbled with included A Roll In The Hague, as well as Hard Candy The End, which was the black polish, and China Glaze White on White. The black looks a little grey in some areas and the white had a slight peach hue to it when it marbled with the orange, but overall I like the colour combination.
I had to do a few fingers over again because the design didn't look very good, but it didn't take me nearly as long as I had imagined it might. I used Vaseline around my fingers to help keep the polish from going everywhere and that seemed to work well.

Yay! So glad you got it to work :) I love water marbles! I love coming up with new colour combinations for them too :) That looks great!
ReplyDeleteCan I give you a tip? When you're marbling, paint your lightest colour as your base colour, then it will come out more crisp looking when it's marbled (the white wouldn't look peach-y) :)
Thanks so much Erica!
DeleteI tried that the last time I did the nails, same colour combo, and must have just been having a bad day of it because none of them turned out! I will have to try that again maybe with different polishes.
Thanks for the tip!
This is a beautiful marble, perfect for Halloween!
ReplyDeleteThank you Melissa!
