I don’t even know where to start with this polish. It is beyond pretty and I cannot stop staring at it on my nails. This polish was one of only two that I wanted from the Skyfall Collection. I like the James Bond movies and such, but the polishes didn’t seem that amazing in my eyes, except for this and one other. This one caught my eye immediately and I am so in love with it.
Goldeneye is a micro-flakie, but after the three coats on my
nails it looks like pure metallic gold. On the first coat I worried it would be
too thin to build up on its own and I started searching for things to layer
under it. After the second coat it seemed to be building up nicely and after
the third one it was wonderful. I still may layer one coat of this over something
else like black, but for now I am enchanted by it on its own.
It dried fairly fast as well, which I was happily surprised
at. It looks incredibly reflective in real life and in each type of light
(indoor, outdoor, daytime, evening, etc.) it continues to look amazing. Sometimes
metallic polishes can be too cool for my skin tone but this one is warm enough
for me, which was another pleasant surprise.
|Goldeneye with Konad|
After a few days wearing this wonderful polish, I got a bit of tip wear but I wasn't ready to remove it. I decided to try some stamping over it, and went with a classic colour combination. I grabbed my well-loved Wet N Wild Black Creme and went to work with Konad plate m78, using the zig-zag pattern.
It reminds me of a tiger for some reason. The way the stamp worked with the colours seems similar to tiger stripes which was not my intention but I ended up liking it. Black and gold is such a classic combination but something about Goldeneye makes it special. It sort of seems like the gold is burning under the black like an ember in a fire… I know I sound crazy but if you see this polish in real life you’ll understand why I am so fascinated by it.
So what do you think of OPI Goldeneye from the Skyfall Collection? Do you have it, want it, or are you going to pass on it? Leave a comment and let me know!
Thanks for stopping by!
