The 2013 Oscars Best Beauty Looks

Amanda Seyfried at the 85th Annual Academy Awards
How many of you watched the 85th Annual Academy Awards last night? I sure did! I adore awards season because there is so much style inspiration all in one place. The red carpet specials are my favourite and I always spot some fantastic fashion and gorgeous makeup looks. For the Oscars this year I decided to compile my favourite faces from last night.

Amanda Seyfried looked so stunning in her glittered gown and elegant updo. I really liked her look overall and definitely repinned her dress on Pinterest for some style inspiration. Her makeup really blew me away though. She always looks so pretty but she took it to a whole new lever with her purple smoky shadow and soft neutral lips. I really think that the colours played up her pretty eye colour well.

Jennifer Aniston at the 2013 Oscars
Jennifer Aniston was every inch the golden girl last night. Her dress was in my top picks for sure and her natural sun-kissed makeup made her look flawless. Whatever blush she wore looked really nice with her skin and I liked her glossy neutral lip colour. I always seem to associate neutrals with boring, but Jen really changed my mind on that.

Another lovely lady who blew my away was Adele. Her hair was awesome. She had such a classy retro eye look with her thick liner and big lashes. Those seem to be her staples and she picks a similar look for every award show, but her hair at the Oscars really wowed me.

I loved Olivia Munn's lip colour, and I definitely need to check my stash for a similar shade to start wearing. Another lipstick I loved was Jessica Chastain - that red looked wonderful with her old Hollywood glam waves.

Charlize Theron at the 85th Annual Academy Awards
Charlize Theron looked like a goddess on the red carpet. Her dress was another of my faves and her makeup was so sophisticated. She had a really pretty pink gloss on that I also might need to hunt down. It was a nice contrast to her short hair and she looked so feminine.

Kerry Washington sported some matte makeup which I loved. Very light and fresh for the upcoming Spring season. Jennifer Lawrence also had a great look with her smoky eyes and shimmery lips.

Overall I really found a lot of lovely looks at last night's awards show and have a few beauty trends to try myself in the upcoming weeks. I love the inspiration I fond from these celebs and I hope you enjoyed me sharing my favourite looks with you guys.

  1. I just love the red carpet...being able to see all the stars and what their designers picked for them to wear, and what their makeup artists used on their faces! It's so much fun! I loved Jennifer Lawrence's gown, even though it did make her tumble. Poor thing...lol

    Thanks for sharing! <3

  2. Hi Emily! I saw your post in one of the fb beauty groups. I adore award season, both for the beauty and glamour as well as for the actual films. :) My personal fave of the evening was Adelle. I thought her makeup and hair was just stunning! I also loved Olivia Munn's lips! Seems like she was one of the very few to wear a bold lip, and it just made her stand out from the rest. Gorgeous! :)

  3. Thanks for stopping by Stephanie! I definitely noticed that too - everyone went with lighter lip colours so the few with bold shades really stood out!

  4. UGH I thought the makeup was so boring this year. where was the color?! where was the drama?! they have the opportunity and a great reason to bring out both (red carpet? Oscars? come on!) but so many went neutral natural -___-

  6. I totally agree - a lot of the ladies has very simple neutral looks! There were one or two with bold lips but the general theme seemed to be very light. Some still had very pretty looks though!
