As usual I will fill out my answers and hopefully you will
too. I can’t wait to see some of your responses to these. I am hoping to be
inspired to try some new things, especially with question 2!
Do you reach for cool
toned or warm toned colours to wear?
Personally this whole cool or warm tone thing has always confused me. I
know it has to do with skin tone and such, but really how serious is it? I
don’t pick my clothing colours or makeup shades based on that, probably because
I hardly know the difference. I don’t have a clue which would suit me better so
I don’t pick based on that, but if I take a look at my wardrobe and makeup case
I think I lean toward choosing warmer toned shades for my skin tone.
What is your
favourite flavor of cake or cupcakes? As I mentioned, I fell in love with
pink velvet cake this past weekend. I don’t know if that comes in cupcake form
but if it did I would buy a box ASAP. I also tried some yummy ones over the
holidays and discovered that I really like a good old fashioned plain vanilla.
It has to be a good quality one and has to have good icing, but I found out I
am pretty simple as far as flavours go. I’d try a lot of different ones to
expand my cake tasting horizons, but I think I’d end up back to basics at the
end of the day.
What is your
relationship status? Since Valentine’s Day is coming up and I just spent that weekend surrounded by happy brides-to-be, it does make me realize how far I am
from all of that. I am not one to wallow in singe-girl self-pity, but I did
take note of my single lady status. The blushing brides were deciding what
shade of ribbon to have on their invitations and it made me laugh thinking how
I don’t have invitations, nor anywhere (like a wedding) to invite anyone to.
I’m quite happy as I am, and I am only 20 so I’m not really worried, but it
made me curious where the rest of the world was with this relationship
situation.
What colour were/will
your wedding nails be? This question is tricky for me. I want to be
bride-ish and go with something simple and classy, but I want to still be true
to me which would be closer to hot pink or leopard print. Luckily that choice
is far away for me, but it made me wonder what other women wore on their
wedding day. I have heard a lot about painting your toes blue as the ‘something
blue’, so I think that might be pretty common. I can’t wait to hear what you
guys had on your nails or plan to pick for your big days!

What a wonderful set of questions! First things first, how did you come to go to a bridal show?
ReplyDeleteDo you reach for cool toned or warm toned colours to wear?
I'm familiar with the cool-toned-warm-toned thing but I seldom take it into account when dressing or applying make-up. I try to stay clear of obviously warm-toned colors, I think they blend to much with my skin tone (I have yellow undertones). But apart from that I use whatever color I feel comfortable with.
What is your favourite flavor of cake or cupcakes?
I have never heard about "pink velvet". What a fancy thing. I guess I'm more old-fashioned, I prefer straight chocolate. IMO the best "cake" is prophet's cake. It's a local thing and despite the rum it contains you can only taste a mix of powder sugar, lemon juice and melted butter. But I'm alone in my love for it so I doubt I'd have that as my wedding cake. Lots of guests would be very disappointed.
What is your relationship status?
Well, I don't make it a secret that I'm in a happy relationship. We would like to get married some time in the future but so far he hasn't asked THE question.
What colour were/will your wedding nails be?
Essie Topless and Barefoot will for sure be one of the colors I will use. I haven't yet thought about other colors, any designs I want to have or if T&B will end up on my tips or toes. I will think about it when I plan all the other wedding stuff.
Warm or cool toned refers to wether you look better in yellow or blue-based colors, unless you're neutral and you look good in either! This article kind of breaks down how to figure out what you are pretty easily: http://voices.yahoo.com/am-warm-cool-guide-determining-skintone-377038.html?cat=69
ReplyDeleteDo you reach for cool toned or warm toned colours to wear? I'm neutral so I can get away with either, but I think I look best in bold colors like teal and royal purple over pastels.
ReplyDeleteWhat is your favourite flavor of cake or cupcakes? I love sheet cake! Vanilla sheet cake. I also love strawberry cupcakes with real strawberries baked into the batter. Yummers!
What is your relationship status? I'm engaged to my favorite person in ze world. :) You have LOADS of time to find the right person. I'm 32 and we're not getting married until next April. A lot of my friends got married young and have already been divorced once and remarried (some now on divorce #2). There is no hurry when it comes to finding the person you'll be with for the rest of your life. :)
What colour were/will your wedding nails be? I am not sure but I'm leaning toward OPI Mod About you. I kind of love bold / bright nails, but I don't want to look back in 10 years and wish my fingernails weren't so bangin'. LOL!
Thanks so much for the fun questions, girl!
Hehe yay these are back! :)
ReplyDelete1. Do you reach for cool toned or warm toned colours to wear? Haha, I'm not very good at knowing what colours suit my skin tone based on this cool and warm toned but I'm tan so mostly dark blue and purple are colours I like to wear although I seem to be able to pull off lighter colours as well.
2. What is your favourite flavor of cake or cupcakes? This is gonna sound boring but I always stick to chocolate! Hehe, it tastes good especially if there's chocolate in the centre!
3. What is your relationship status? I'm a single lady too! Hehe, I'm only 18 going on 19 so I do think that I still have time to find "the one" :) Besides, the guys my age now are still kinda immature..
4. What colour were/will your wedding nails be? Oh man, this seems like so far away. I haven't ever thought about this but I'll probably go with something simple, elegant and pink unless I have some interesting coloured wedding gown haha!
I'm glad you like these Rachael!
ReplyDeleteI have never been a huge chocolate fan but I totally understand the classic choice!
Definitely feel your pain with the guys around that age, I'm not much older than you and they haven't gotten much better yet! Haha
Oooh a coloured gown! That would be so amazing girl!
Thanks for answering!
Teal and royal purple sound fantastic, I love bold colours but I'm too shy to wear then usually!
ReplyDeleteOMG those cupcakes sound delicious.. my mouth is watering now! Yum!
Congrats on the engagement girl! Sounds like you waited and found a really great guy!
Thanks so much for answering these Kristen!
Hi Chester! I have an event management class in my program at University and we had to volunteer for events in the city, so I picked the Bridal Show :)
ReplyDeletePink velvet was delicious (I might be drooling now just thinking about it...) but that prophet's cake sounds so good! I have never heard of that before - thanks for sharing!
Topless and Barefoot is a great wedding choice! It would be good for tips or toes, I guess you'll have to wait for the big question to start planning these things! How exciting!
Thanks for answering!
I tend not to pay attention to what undertone is suggested for me either. I just pick what I like. It's mostly warm tones but I enjoy cool toned colors as well x
ReplyDeleteThat is exactly how I do it! Whatever speaks to me is what I wear :)
